Refund policy
REFUND, RETURNS AND WARRANTY POLICY
Weitz Industries Limited does not provide a refund, exchange or store credit where:
• you have changed your mind;
• you no longer require the part;
• your circumstances have changed;
• the fault or symptom you purchased the part to address has disappeared;
• you have found the part cheaper elsewhere;
• you ordered the wrong part or supplied incorrect vehicle information; or
• the part does not solve a problem that was incorrectly diagnosed.
This applies to new, used, aftermarket, genuine and electrical or electronic parts. Please confirm suitability and compatibility before purchasing.
Any return, exchange or store credit offered in a change-of-mind situation is entirely at Weitz Industries’ discretion as a goodwill gesture and does not create an ongoing obligation or entitlement.
This change-of-mind policy does not limit any rights or remedies available under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other applicable New Zealand law.
FAULTY, DAMAGED OR INCORRECTLY SUPPLIED GOODS
If goods are faulty, damaged in transit, incorrectly supplied, materially different from their description, or otherwise fail to meet an applicable legal guarantee, please contact us as soon as reasonably practicable.
Please provide your name and contact details, order or invoice number, vehicle registration or VIN where relevant, a description of the issue, and photographs, video or diagnostic information where reasonably available.
We may need to inspect or test the part before confirming the appropriate remedy. Please do not modify, dismantle or dispose of the part before contacting us.
Where the Consumer Guarantees Act applies, remedies will be provided in accordance with that Act. Depending on the circumstances, this may include repair, replacement, refund or another remedy required by law.
You do not need the original packaging to exercise rights relating to faulty goods. However, please package returned goods safely to prevent damage in transit.
INCORRECT DIAGNOSIS, INSTALLATION AND EXTERNAL CAUSES
A part is not considered faulty merely because it does not resolve an incorrectly diagnosed vehicle issue.
Warranty or statutory remedies may not apply where the problem was caused by something unrelated to the condition of the supplied part, including:
• incorrect installation, coding, programming or calibration;
• misuse, abuse, accident or impact;
• modification, dismantling or tampering;
• contamination, overheating, water ingress, incorrect voltage or another vehicle fault;
• use outside the part’s stated purpose or specifications; or
• normal wear reasonably expected for the age, price and disclosed condition of a used part.
Nothing in this section excludes liability where the supplied part itself fails to meet an applicable legal guarantee.
SPECIAL-ORDER AND SPECIALLY PROCURED GOODS
Special-order, overseas-order, custom-made, cut-to-order and specially procured goods cannot be cancelled or returned because of a change of mind once the order has been accepted or procurement has begun.
If those goods are faulty, incorrectly supplied or otherwise fail to meet an applicable legal guarantee, we will provide the remedy required by law.
EXPRESS PARTS WARRANTY
Any express warranty below is additional to, and does not replace or limit, rights under applicable New Zealand law:
• New genuine, OEM and aftermarket parts: 12 months or 20,000 km from the invoice date, whichever occurs first, unless a different written warranty is stated on the product listing or invoice.
• Used parts: 3 months or 5,000 km from the invoice date, whichever occurs first, unless sold with a different written warranty or with a specifically disclosed fault.
The express warranty applies to the supplied part. It does not ordinarily include diagnostic charges, labour, removal, installation, towing, vehicle hire, loss of use or other indirect costs, except where Weitz Industries is legally required to cover those costs.
The express warranty does not cover a failure caused by incorrect installation, misuse, modification, accident, another vehicle fault, motorsport use, or use outside the stated purpose or specifications of the part.
RETURN COSTS AND PROCESS
Contact Weitz Industries before sending or returning any item. We will provide return instructions where a return is required.
If the return results from an error by Weitz Industries or a failure covered by applicable law, we will meet any return costs we are legally required to pay.
Unauthorised freight, diagnostic or repair costs should not be incurred on our behalf without prior agreement, unless the law provides otherwise.
Approved refunds will generally be made to the original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on the bank or payment provider.
